For the first showing of our music videos, we had to show one minute of our progress to the rest of the class to receive positive and negative feedback.
The positive feedback was -
- Variation of shots throughout the video
- Met the genre of Pop
- The concept of the video works well and makes sense
- The opening (including intro) and end is good and strong
- Tracking shots of the horses in the field and grass were described as 'amazing'
- The horse shot when the guitar starts fits well with the beat of the song
- Use of colour in the fields works partially well, the white of the horse harmonises with the gold glow from the field.
The negative feedback (bits we need to work on) was -
- Some scenes didn't match the song (this contradicts what others said about the concept working)
- Shaky camera work at the river scene looks like handmade footage
- The song abruptly starts, needs to be faded in or some other sound at the intro
- Camera adjusts and focuses at the wrong time
- More close-ups needed and point of views from Tuesday to make it clear the video is from her perspective
- Shot at the river with Ben and Tuesday is too long
All in all the video received very positive and constructive feedback that enables us to make changes that we otherwise was not have noticed. We will create a short monologue at the beginning of the clip to fade in the music so there is no sudden sound and I will continue to edit the video to have shorter clips so that the audience doesn't get bored. Myself and Ben also need to sort out a new filming schedule as some extra footage is needed to fulfil the need for more point of view shots and make the video more obvious its from Tuesdays angle.
